10 Fabric Product Development (Option A)

Course Description

Learning Area Leader: Mr F. Rzoska.

Create your own hoodie - learn the skills required to cut out a pattern and sew a hooded sweatshirt. Learn how to use the technology design thinking process to create an individualised design for your hoodie, trialing different methods for applying designs to fabric. Skills introduced at this level include learning how to sew knit fabrics and how to follow commercial pattern instructions. These skills will set you up well for Level 1 Fabric Technology.

  • Sewing skills

  • Reading a commercial pattern

  • How to apply a design to fabric or garments.


Skills you need to be successful in this course - self-motivation, creativity and attention to detail.

This course is useful for or will lead to - 1Fabric and further Year 12 and 13 courses.

Additional Course Specific Contributions & Equipment/Stationery

$25 for the take home component of this course (hoodie).
