Learning Area Leader: Mr A. Gebbie.
Learners will explore a range of health issues that impact the wellbeing of individuals and society. They will carry out a take action health promotion initiative that aims to enhance an aspect of wellbeing within the school or wider community.

Research skills and essay writing
Carry out a health promotion initiative to enhance wellbeing which requires organisation, time management, planning and critical thinking skills
Topics in this course include sexuality, resiliency and interpersonal issues.
Skills you need to be successful in this course - a high level of literacy skills is required as learners will need to research, write essays, carry out a take action initiative and be succesful in one external examination. Critical thinking is key in a senior Health course.
This course is useful for or will lead to - this course is aimed at learners who enjoy research and thinking critically in the realm of health and health related issues. This course is designed for those who have an interest in the Health Education learning area and leads on from Level 1 Health and further leads on to Level 3 Health.
