1 Numeracy (Vocational Academy Learners only)

Course Description

This course aims to prepare learners to be numerate in the real world. The focus will be on preparing learners for the Numeracy co-requisite and on strengthening mathematical reasoning.


Skills/content you will cover in this course 

  • Preparation for the Numeracy co-requisite external exam.

  • Applying mathematical methods to real life scenarios.


Skills you need to be successful in this course - positive approach to learning, able to work independently and willingness to take feedback.

This course is useful for or will lead to - preparation for the workforce and further tertiary study.  There is a Level 2 Maths for Apprentice course that we would recommend learner move to in Year 12.


**Please note that that learners accepted into the Vocational Academy who have already achieved their Numeracy credits, will be offered further learning opportunities to extend their Numeracy skills**

Recommended Prior Learning

This course is for Academy Learners that have not yet gained Level 1 Numeracy.  Learners in the Academy who have gained their Numeracy will be given other assessment opportunities at Level 1.
