1 Literacy (Vocational Academy Learners only)
Course Description
This course is designed to give you the opportunity to gain the co-requisite Literacy standard for NCEA and has a strong visual and communications focus.

Personal correspondence
Research - search and select information
Reading for understanding.
Skills you need to be successful in this course - positive approach to learning, able to work independently and willingness to take feedback.
This course is useful for or will lead to - preparing for the workforce and further vocational tertiary study. There is also a Level 2 Literacy course for learners in the Vocational Academy in Year 12.
**Please note this course is only for learners accepted into the Vocational Academy. Learners who already have their Literacy requirements will be offered other content and assessments**
Recommended Prior Learning
This course is designed for learners who have not yet gained Level 1 Literacy. Those learners in the Vocational Academy who have gained Literacy already, will be provided with additional Literacy learner to extend their abilities.
