3 Fabric Product Design: Hangarau Pūeru

Course Description

Learning Area Leader: Ms B. Jones, Mr F. Rzoska.

In this course you will learn how to draft your own patterns and explore more complex construction techniques. You will use Te Tukanga Hoahoa Whakaaro, the design process, to design and create an evening wear outfit influenced by current evening wear design trends.

Skills you need to be successful in this course - previous experience in Fabric technology, self-motivated, resilient and a problem solver. 

This course is useful for or will lead to - Tertiary study in fashion design.



Recommended Prior Learning

Students should have successfully completed Fabric Technology in year 11 or 12.   Students who have no prior experience in Fabric can contact Miss Jones for discussion.

Additional Course Specific Contributions & Equipment/Stationery

$15 for fabric supplied for the first project (skirt/shorts). Students are expected to provide their own fabric for the second project.
General stationery as well as fabric and notions for project and a spiral visual diary 50 leaves.
