Course Description
Learning Area Leader: Mr R. McBrearty.
Pacific Studies focus on cultures, languages, societies, development and changes in the Pacific.
Skills/content you will cover in this course
Indigenous Knowledge - investigate Arts/designs, food/cooking, navigation, dance, tatoo, music in the Pacific.
Pasifika Societies - Chiefly system, education, values/family relationships, leaders.
Changes/Development - Aid, democracy, laws/orders.
Skills you need to be successful in this course - Research, writing and Reading skills are required in this course. Applying the concept of 'Talanoa" during class is needed in the course. Out of school workshops
This course is useful for or will lead to - Pacific Studies is a relevant course for learners interested in different careers including the tourism sectors, teachers, the health sectors, mentors, and counsellors.
