9 Secret of Drawing (Term taster)

Learners will learn about the secrets of drawing and the way the visual arts communicates meaning. The course will work within the bi-cultural context of New Zealand looking at Maori and Pakeha artists within contemporary visual art practices made in Aotearoa. 

Skills/content you will cover in this course 

• Use of dry media in the creation of artworks

• Use of wet media in the creation of artworks

• Developing understanding of the elements and principles of art through art making and artist model research

This course is useful for or will lead to - Year 10 Art courses and then NCEA Visual Arts. Learning to look, think and create like an artist leads to analysis and problem solving skills that are sought-after in the modern workplace.
