Course Description
Learning Area Leader: Mrs M. Millar.
Learners will learn about different types of Visual art, how it can be made and how it communicates meaning. The course will work within the bi-cultural context of New Zealand and look at the contemporary artists from around the world who have influenced New Zealand artists.
Skills/content you will cover in this course
Use of dry media in the creation of artworks
Use of wet media in the creation of artworks
Developing understanding of the elements and principles of art through art making and artist model research.
This course is useful for or will lead to - Year 10 Art courses and then NCEA Visual Arts. Learning to look, think and create like an artist leads to analysis and problem solving skills that are sought-after in the modern workplace.
