1 Communication

Course Description

In this course, learners will have the opportunity to have extra support to improve their literacy skills.  The course will use songs and music to learn how texts are created, as well as offering a starting point to explore important issues in the world.  Learners will also spend time learning about different careers to help them plan for their futures.  They will then move on to studying conspiracy theories so they can understand how and why they need to question the information that is given to them.

They will finish the year choosing a topic of their own choice to read and write more about.

This is a Unit Standard-based course and will cover the pre-requisite Writing and Reading assessments for those learners who did not achieve this in Year 10.

Learners can only select ONE English course.
