Course Description

Learning Area Leader: Mr F. Rzoska.

This is an amalgamation of COMPETENZ; and MITO (Te Pukenga) standards.  The theory is teacher directed learning.    Supporting Practical aspects are undertaken in the automotive and engineering workshops.  This is a worthwhile course for those students who are looking at purchasing a motor vehicle in the near future. 


Skills/content you will cover in this course 

  • Workshop Health and Safety

  • Use basic engineering tool and processes

  • Use basic automotive tools

  • Basic diagnostics.


Skills you need to be successful in this course - regular attendance, mature attitude towards safety and an ability to work independently.

This course is useful for or will lead to - 2AUTO or further tertiary study pathways.
