9 Fabric Product Development (Semester)

Course Description

Get ready for a Pyjama Party! Start off learning some basic sewing skills by creating a tote bag - then start filling it with what you may need for a sleepover. Start with some PJ shorts, then maybe a top, a toothbrush purse or a stuffed toy - you decide. This course focuses on becoming familiar with basic sewing techniques and serves as an introduction to the technology curriculum. You will learn about the design process, as well as how to use the sewing machine, use the overlocker, and do paper stencil screen printing.

This course is useful for or will lead to - Year 10 Fabric and further NCEA Level courses.


Additional Course Specific Contributions & Equipment/Stationery

$20 for the take home components of this course (tote bag, pj shorts, soft toy)
