Course Description

Learning Area Leader: Mrs A. Evans.

Learners in this course will explore the fundamentals of English, and build on their skills from previous English courses.  They will work on their analytical skills as well as their writing. 


Skills/content you will cover in this course 

  • Essay writing, 
  • analysis of written and visual texts, 
  • creative and formal writing


Skills you need to be successful in this course - A high level of literacy skills is required as you will need to read a novel independently and be successful in two examinations. 

This course is useful for or will lead to - This course is aimed at learners who are wanting to improve their skills in preparation for further tertiary study or have an interest in English as a learning area.

If you are wanting to take this course it is recommended that you have Achieved in any of the Level 2 Media Studies or English courses.
