Course Description

As the world grows around us, it is important to understand how we have got here and what influences the decisions that we make as human beings. Throughout this course, you will be looking into Social Psychology to understand why humans act the way they do. You will learn about the nature vs nurture debate, and build an understanding of how society and a person’s life can lead them to commit crimes. This course will also focus on addiction, and the psychological approaches that are used to understand the psychological and physiological process of addiction. You will even have an opportunity to conduct your own psychological research.
This course is focused on:
Developing your understanding of fields of practice in psychology
Looking into the ‘why’ behind decisions that humans make everyday
Conducting your own research and experiment based on psychological learnings
Examining ethics in psychological practice
Throughout this course, you will:
Build your understanding of psychological approaches
Analyse the nature vs nurture debate
Explore a variety of criminal case studies
Research how the psychological debate has changed over time
Develop your understanding of criminals and the psychology behind their decisions to commit crime
