2 Design & Visual Communication

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr F. Rzoska.

Design and Visual Communication uses two teacher developed design briefs in Product, and Spatial design scenarios to teach the design process and drawing skills. Freehand drawing skills and Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings are produced for internal and external achievement standards.

Recommended Prior Learning

This course is open to students who have successfully completed year 11 DVC for at least one semester.  Students who have no Y11 qualification in DVC can contact Mr Hobbs for discussion.

Additional Course Specific Contributions & Equipment/Stationery

A starter stationery pack will be issued to students; this comes at a cost of $30. (A3 Folder, cartridge paper, 0.5mm micro lead pencils x 2, Albrect Durer watercolor pencils.)

Students would though benefit from a laptop that is capable of running current ArchiCad and Autodesk Inventor. (No cost for software). Please note there are limited school laptops available for in class use.

Learners will complete either AS91341 or AS91342.

Credit Information

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
