Essential Mathematics is a comprehensive course designed to provide students with the foundational mathematical skills and knowledge required for success in everyday life and future academic pursuits. This course aims to fulfill the numeracy prerequisite by enabling students to earn 10 credits towards their academic progress. Essential Mathematics covers a wide range of fundamental mathematical topics, including number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, equations, inequalities, and basic statistical concepts.
Students will develop practical skills in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data, earning 5 credits in statistical knowledge. Through hands-on activities, problem-solving exercises, and real-world applications, students will strengthen their mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and communication skills. Successful completion of Essential Mathematics equips students with the necessary tools to make informed decisions, confidently navigate real-life situations, and pursue higher-level math courses with confidence.
By gaining a solid foundation in essential mathematical concepts, students will enhance their numeracy skills and be well-prepared for success in various academic and practical contexts.
