1 Design and Build (DAB)
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr F. Rzoska.
This course conforms to BCATS requirements, and is designed for students who are looking for more of a challenge. Students will not only be building their own projects but also focusing on the research and design element.
The course will be scaffolded from a teacher directed to a student directed project to make a child’s chair. For this you will be given a plan and the teacher will be teaching the skills required to build. The second project is a little different with the students being given the basic building plans for a lamp which they will then build and individualise. In the last project though the students will be in charge. They will be looking at a storage issue, research some solutions to the problem and then design and build their own prototype.
This course allows for students to gain endorsement.
