1 Design and Build (DAB)
Course Description
Learning Area Leader: Mr F. Rzoska.
Students will learn a range of practical skills within the workshop, which supports both a set product and a design and make outcome, which solves their own identified problem. A mix of both Industry Unit Standards and Achievement Standards are used in this course to enhance future pathways opportunities.
Skills/content you will cover in this course
Measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, fabrication, fitting and finishing
Health and Safety codes of practices
Workshop processes to increase both independence and efficiency
Solving problems, consulting stakeholders and creating functional outcomes.
Skills you need to be successful in this course - regular attendance, resilience and commitment.
This course is useful for or will lead to - 2BUILD and 2DAB, further tertiary study or apprenticeship pathways.
**Please note that learners can only choose one build course and cannot take 1BUILD and 1DAB**
Recommended Prior Learning
Y10 Hard Tech experience would be an advantage but not essential.
