Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr R. McBrearty.
Year 13 Geography explores a variety of world topics that impact people and the environment and identifies future solutions. For example, learners will investigate the escalating criminal enterprise of sex trafficking, examining different viewpoints, involvement and identifying the impact and significance for people.
Learners will also explore global topics, and look at local events and how these are managed. Natural environments such as coasts will be explored; understanding the natural processes that create these.
We will investigate global topics such as Maritime Piracy, Hurricanes and Covid.
All learners work towards an external examination based on geographic skills and concepts.
Additional Course Specific Contributions & Equipment/Stationery
Possible Overnight Field Trip opportunity to deepen and reinforce learning at an approximate cost of between $200 to $250 covering travel expenses and entry fee.
