A very good year 11 pass would be considered.
This course is designed for students who are looking for a future in construction, joinery, carpentry or another of the trades. This course uses BCATS units and will total 27 credits at the end of the project. Students will be working in small groups to build an outside playhouse and will include research, design, power tools, materials, communication and building to specification. This is a full-year course and looks at constructing a house from the foundations up. This is a very hands-on course with paperwork done in class to support the practical work.

Under take a major level 3 BCATS project
Term 2
Advanced level 3 construction techniques.
demonstrating the knowledge to select and use materials for a level 3 project.
Term 3
Developing and using BCATS project documentation for a stage 3 project.
Term 4
Complete a major project.

To keep costs low, we recommend only buying the items of stationery you do not have. Your child is welcome to bring items from home, perhaps purchased in previous years and repurposed to save money. This could include erasers, headphones, scientific calculators and padlocks for the lockers if they already have one.
