1 Who Do You Think You Are (1WHO2)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs B. Hoy

What is your whakapapa? What is your story?

This course looks at your own history and tells the story of your tipuna/ancestors, and which local, national and global events they might have been involved in, whilst learning about the big events that shaped us as New Zealanders.

Doing some historical detective work, you will find the answers to questions like: Did they arrive with the early British settlers or were they Tangata Whenua? Did they go to war, or were they, pacifist? Did they protest the Springbok Tour, or did they support the national game?

What side of historical events were your whānau on and what different perspectives did people have on these events?
