Course Description

Project One: Growing Meat to Eat
Learners will research the impact of animal farming on an issue of your choice. Then design a plant based product that can help reduce the impact of agriculture on your chosen issue.
Project Two: It’s a rocky road to the perfect dessert
Learners will design a menu dessert item for a local cafe that incorporates the components of a rocky road slice.
Recommended Prior Learning
Having taken 12FPD or 12CAP is advantageous, but not essential.

Voluntary Course Contribution
A $180.00 Course Contribution towards in-class course materials and ingredients. Throughout the year, learners are able to eat and take home any items they produce during the course. We hope it makes it home for you to also enjoy
Optional Items - Recommended for home purchase and use
Dedicated learner laptop (Chrome book suitable) with learners own headset recommended.
Student workbooks. If a learner elects to complete an external exam, revision work is recommended and can be purchased via the College at a cost of approx. $10 to $25 * depending on year level and workbook required.

To keep costs low, we recommend only buying the items of stationery you do not have. Your child is welcome to bring items from home, perhaps purchased in previous years and repurposed to save money. This could include erasers, headphones, scientific calculators and padlocks for the lockers if they already have one.
