3 Café Hospitality: Wharekai Manaakitanga
Course Description
Gain a sound base knowledge of food safety, knife skills and cookery techniques to create dishes suitable for cafe sales.
Work with local charities and community groups to provide food for those in need, gaining an understanding of sustainability, kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga. Show understanding of bacterial contamination and risks, including the development of food safety plans for a business. Learn basic nutritional needs enabling you to provide meals that suit people with differing needs.
Recommended Prior Learning
Having taken Cafe Apprentice or Food Product Development at Level 2 is beneficial but not required.
