Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs A. Evans.

This course is created to develop learners skills in English.  They do this through the context of discovering who they are and where they fit in Aotearoa/New Zealand.  Learners will work on their writing skills through the creation of a writing portfolio, they will also be able to show their learning through speech and creation of visual text.  Learners will spend the year working on their critical analysis skills which will culminate in a connections report and showing their ability to critically analyse texts.

This course will help prepare them to understand how texts are shaped in our world as well as prepare them for future study.

Recommended Prior Learning

If you are wanting to take this course it is recommended that you have Achieved in any of the Level 2 Media Studies or English courses.
