Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr M. Hobbs
Design and Visual Communication Spatial focuses on interior building and landscape techniques within the Graphics program.
Students will develop advanced sketching techniques and presentation skills.
High-quality CAD working drawings of your design will be printed.
Geometric perspective drawings of your final design solution will be produced on the drawing board.
Course Overview
Term 1
Perspective sketching techniques.
Presentation drawing skills and texturing techniques.
Design development of ideas.
Term 2
Construction and assembly methods.
Advanced CAD techniques to produces working drawings of final design ideas.
Geometric perspective drawing techniques.
Presentation techniques and development of presentation.
Recommended Prior Learning
It is recommended that you have successfully completed Y11 DVC however students who completed DVC in the junior school can be considered on consultation with Mr Hobbs

● Course Fee $25.00 for in-class materials and resources.
Optional Items - Recommended for home purchase and use
● Students would benefit from a laptop that is capable of running current Adobe Creative Cloud and CAD software. Please note there are limited school laptops available for in-class use.
● Adobe Creative Cloud/CAD software is available to purchase from the school for your personal device for use at home at a cost of $10.00 for students enrolled in this course

To keep costs low, we recommend only buying the items of stationery you do not have. Your child is welcome to bring items from home, perhaps purchased in previous years and repurposed to save money. This could include erasers, headphones, scientific calculators, and padlocks for the lockers if they already have one.
