1 English - Literature
Course Description
What shapes our identities? In this course, learners will take a nostalgic trip through the past and revisit the sights, sounds and tastes of childhood memories. They will also explore the stereotypes of what it means to be Kiwi, and how well those ideas still fit our modern, multicultural landscape. Learners are encouraged to bring in their own identities and cultures to the learning space as they read, view and write texts. This course has a focus on reading, analysing ideas, language and creative writing, with assessment offered mostly externally.
Internally learners will critically analyse written and verbal text. Their external is the creation of a portfolio of writing and analysis of texts in a NZQA external assessment. By completing these assessments learners will achieve their NCEA literacy requirement.
This course is for learners with a passion for English and will want to carry on in future years.
Learners can only take ONE English course.
